Ruijie Ma, MSW, is currently a PhD student in the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focuses on child and family flourishing, particularly among youth exposed to adversity and those with mental health and developmental challenges. She is interested in using community-engaged and mixed-methods approaches to promote positive development and well-being.
At the Center for Mindfulness & Compassion and the Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness, she contributes to studies examining mindfulness practices, trauma experiences, and challenges encountered during meditation among practitioners and teachers. She is also involved in projects related to sleep, positive health, and flourishing across diverse populations.
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Boston, trying new coffee and boba shops, and spending time in bookstores.
