Julia Petrovic, PhD (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Mindfulness and Compassion (CMC) in affiliation with Harvard Medical School’s Department of Psychiatry. Her postdoctoral research is supported by a two-year fellowship awarded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada. She earned her PhD in Educational Psychology (Human Development concentration) from McGill University in 2025. Broadly, her research focuses on the adaptation of mindfulness-based interventions to meet unique developmental and individual needs. Recently, she has been conducting head-to-head comparisons of the effectiveness and acceptability of formal versus informal approaches to mindfulness practice within different contexts and populations.
In her free time, Julia can be found exercising, spending time in nature, traveling, and enjoying quality time (and food!) with family and friends.
