Week 5 Recap - “Kindness & Coping”
Hi everyone,
Thanks for sticking with it and attending another session yesterday!
What we learned:
This week we flew through two more steps of STOP ACHE GO, covering:
“C” – Compassion, Curiosity towards our experiences, and Common Humanity
“H” – Holding the experience with warmth and sustaining touch
We discussed our capability and intentions to be compassionate with others as well as ourselves. After being led through a kindness-compassion meditation, some of you noticed that it was more difficult to wish ourselves well compared to wishing that for others. Self-compassion is a practice that we can always improve at. That being said, we encourage you to take a look at the home practices for this week and notice what kind of experience the loving-kindness meditation is for you.
As usual, getting into practice recommendations, please take a moment to complete the weekly check-in form. Likewise, please take a moment to send your reflections on the midway check-in to mmhs@challiance.org. The prompts were:
How am I finding the group so far?
Please note any problems/difficulties with:
Body Scan
Mindful Movement
Mindful Sitting
Things I’m learning about myself:
Am I making time to practice—how often—be honest!
Any comments, suggestions, requests?
