Ilana Sichel, Ph.D, M.F.A., is an Advanced Clinical Mindfulness Fellow at CMC and works in primary care behavioral health integration at CHA's Windsor Street Clinic. She is passionate about making high quality mental healthcare accessible to all. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at City College of New York (CUNY) and has worked in both community mental health and university settings. Her clinical interests include child and family therapy, trauma treatment, mindfulness, group psychotherapy, and psychodynamic/psychoanalytic and relational psychotherapy, yet she approaches all of her clinical work from an integrative perspective and draws on a variety of techniques depending on each patient. She has worked extensively with undocumented individuals and immigrants, and is trained in conducting forensic interviews for asylum seekers. Her qualitative dissertation, supported by the American Psychoanalytic Fund for Research, focused on experiences of loss, mourning, and psychological well-being among gay men who are long-term HIV/AIDS survivors. In addition, Ilana has a background in writing and the arts, and earned her M.F.A. in Fiction at the University of Michigan.
