CBCT ® (Cognitively-Based Compassion Training) is a meditation protocol with the primary aim of helping to sustain a genuine compassionate responsiveness while buffering against negative effects of empathic fatigue and burnout. CBCT has been widely researched with a number of promising outcomes, including: increased resilience to stress, improved empathic accuracy, decreased depression and loneliness, and increased hopefulness. CBCT is offered in collaboration with Emory University.

MBCT: This Professional Training Workshop is a requirement in MBCT teacher training, intended for mental health professionals who have an established mindfulness practice and want to address depression relapse for clients. Through this workshop, professionals can expand and/or deepen their work with MBCT and mindfulness-based approaches for supporting clients that suffer with chronic depression and unhappiness. MBCT is an adaptation of the MBSR program through Zindel Segal, Mark Williams and John Teasdale. Note: This course qualifies as the MBCT: 5-Day Professional Training for the Prevention of Depression Relapse, Phase 1 training towards further teacher certification through UCSD.
Dates: 2 Weekend Trainings: Thursday-Saturday, May 4-6 and May 11-13, 2017

Mindfulness and Biofeedback for Resilience and Self-Regulation Workshop
Mindfulness and Biofeedback for Resilience and Self-regulation Workshop: 2 day workshop on Mindfulness and Biofeedback on integrating both mindfulness and biofeedback in to addressing overall health and well-being. Dr. Khazan is a clinical psychologist, who published the book The Clinical Handbook of Biofeedback: A Step-by-Step Guide for Training and Practice with Mindfulness. This workshop includes software for a review of biofeedback assessments that measures heart rate, respiration, skin conductance, skin temperature and muscle activity provides the client with a window into what is going on in their body and how it reacts to stress. The results of the initial assessment can help determine the best mindfulness techniques to use with each client. Real-time training with biofeedback can measure the effect mindfulness training has on ones physiology.
