Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

8-Week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR): This 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course is offered at the CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion.  All levels of experience with mindfulness and meditation are welcome. Mindful meditation has been show to improve your thoughts, beliefs and actions in response to stress by balancing sympathetic and parasympathetic responses (Kabat-Zinn, 2003). In this course, the fundamentals and foundations of mindfulness and meditation will be taught. Participants will have the opportunity to practice daily at home, together in the weekly group and use provided resources to help support an ongoing practice. This course aims to support and provide tools for relieving stress, increasing resiliency, and meeting the challenges of everyday life. Kabat-Zinn, J. (2003). Retreat: Saturday, August 11, 2018, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
