Mindfulness Training for Primary Care (MTPC):
Group Leader Training
November 7-10, 2019
Mindfulness Training in Primary Care (MTPC) Group Leader Training is a 4-day experiential group leader training with a mix of didactic, individual, and small group exercises designed to help attendees learn basic mindfulness group leading skills for clinical settings, and build the foundation to deliver Mindfulness Training for Primary Care (MTPC), the 8-week, trauma-informed, therapeutic mindfulness intervention. MTPC is an insurance-reimbursable mindfulness program shown to be effective for helping primary care patients with anxiety, depression and stress to increase their capacity for health behavior change, self-compassion, body awareness, and emotion regulation. You can learn more about MTPC as an insurance-reimbursable mindfulness program in our published research article.
Who is this training for?
This training is appropriate for professionals in the health care, community health, education, mindfulness research, mindfulness intervention, and leadership fields. Once qualified to lead MTPC, licensed clinicians will know how to adapt the curriculum so that licensed mental health clinicians can bill their groups as group psychotherapy and primary care providers can run as group medical visits within primary care clinics. Groups are covered by nearly all health insurance payers with the group being insurance-reimbursable for greater than 99% of all enrolled patients in 3 clinical studies to date. If you have a question about whether this group leader training is right for you, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-591-6132.
