Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) combines cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) methods with mindfulness practices – including movement and meditation. In addition to the standard MBCT content, this class will include discussions around medications and their role in improving symptoms of depression from a mindfulness perspective. MBCT has been well researched, and has shown to be particularly effective in preventing relapses of depression [click here for the JAMA meta analysis on MBCT]

This group will allow patients to strengthen or renew their mindfulness practice within a smaller group setting, emphasizing continuity. It gives an opportunity for people to develop ongoing mindfulness and then apply it to improve emotional health, deal with life's challenges, and enrich their lives.
Each session will include:
A guided practice
